We can either live our lives in faith or fear. Many times we had belief that we could achieve some things others think is impossible and we went ahead to do it. We may not have considered it a great feat but that was faith in action.
God created man with the ability to do mind blowing things. However, many people have believed the lie of the devil and considered many things unachievable. Little wonder many are living lower than God’s plan and purpose for their lives.
Faith works even for mundane things.
Let me share this true life experience with you. Sometimes last year, I was having a series of teachings and prayer sessions with some of the teenagers in church. The teachings involved sharing the stories and miracles in the bible, I also included modern day miracles that happen all around us.
I made them understand that all they needed was faith like a mustard seed and things will begin to happen. Matthew 17:20
One of those days, I was in the mission house with some of those teenagers. There was power outage and one of the young men around has tried all he could, yet the generator refused to power. This was late at night as everywhere was dark.
All of a sudden, a teenage twin (a boy and a girl) placed their hands of the generator.
At first, I was furious, wondering how their feeble hands could pull the rope of the generator (the way to power generators is to pull the rope attached to power it).
Then to my amazement, I saw that the twins were making decrees on the generator to work. It was one of the most amazing sights I have seen in my faith journey. The thought that both of them decided to put their faith to work on the generator shocked me. They have heard that faith works even for mundane things.
See what happened next.
They asked the young man who was helping out with the generator to try pulling the rope one more time. Guess what? The generator responded and power came on. There was shouting of joy in the mission house. I didn’t know when I joined them in jumping for joy. Faith works. It can work for mundane and complex things.
Faith can be replicated.
I remember sharing this ‘simple’ generator testimony in the Sunday school class so other teenagers can learn that faith is practicable.
Not too long afterwards, another teenager who was in the class replicated same thing.
Now, here is what happened. This other teenager, (let’s call her) Joy tried putting on the generator in their house one night. She has tried all she used to do but all efforts proved abortive.
Joy then remembered the generator testimony and the twins, and then she laid hand on their family generator. Her prayer lines were something like:
Oh God, I connect my faith to the faith of the twins that prayed on the generator in the mission house. I command you this generator to respond too in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
That was it! She pulled the rope of the generator and it responded. The amazing thing is that Joy’s younger sister was beside her the whole while and she corroborated the testimony.
It’s time to grow your faith
You too can put your faith to work either in the mundane things or in the big and complex things. The book of Hebrews 11 is full of stories of ordinary men and women who did extraordinary things through faith. All you need is just to believe in the Omnipotent God.
The ways to grow your faith is by reading the word of God. You go further by listening and watching testimonies of what God has done for others. You then key into those testimonies and declare over your life and undertakings. Remember to also believe because without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6
I pray for you today that your faith will grow and that you will help teach others how to grow their faith.
